Velo Law Offices strives to be at the forefront of the Creditor’s Rights industry. To accomplish this, Velo ensures that its software and technologies are second to none; its staff is trained to exceed all regulatory compliance standards; its client service’s department is communicative to client needs; and its attorneys are actively involved in private, local, state, and federal associations.

Today, Velo highlights one of its attorney’s involvements.

Joshua Kosmerick has been with Velo since he graduated from law school in 2016, going on eight years. In that time, Mr. Kosmerick has been the president of the Grand Rapids Bar Association’s Young Lawyers; a member of the Michigan Creditor’s Bar Association; a State Bar of Michigan Representative Assembly Member for Michigan’s 17th Circuit; a member of the Michigan Banker’s Association; and a committee member on the National Creditor’s Bar Association.

For those of you who are not familiar with the SBM Representative Assembly, it is the final policy-making body before the Michigan Supreme Court. The Assembly is composed of elected members of the State Bar. Members meet with their constituents and hold sessions twice throughout the year. At sessions, members propose, debate, and vote on policy changes to be submitted to the Michigan Supreme Court. If a policy change is approved by the body (i.e. a modification to the Michigan Court Rules), it is submitted to the Michigan Supreme Court for approval.

Velo highlights this association in particular because Mr. Kosmerick is scheduled to attend the spring conference in Lansing on April 20, 2024, and we want feedback from our community.

Are there rule changes you would like submitted to the State Bar of Michigan? If so, please comment your proposals below and Velo will have them reviewed and submitted for consideration.
